Helpful Resources

There are some really great resource available for frum women, but people don’t know where to find them. I can’t claim to know them all, but here are my top two recommendations:

Nishmat – http://www.yoatzot.org/home/

If you are a reader, this website holds a tremendous wealth of information. Your personal Rav may be more or less meikel in psak, so I’m not recommending that you use the information presented to substitute consulting with a rabbinic authority (and, actually, neither do they!). That being said, they have written articles on almost every women’s health subject, with hyperlinks to others – you can spend hours reading about everything from Taharas HaMishpacha (I personally found their explanation of staining/spotting to be very helpful) to gynecologic procedures and conditions; from an introduction to halachos following miscarriage, to special concerns while breastfeeding.

(I am not a Yoetzet Halacha, nor do I aspire to be one, though I honestly wish I had more than a few drops of their women-related halachich knowledge. 🙂 I am a Bodeket Tahara – more on that later…)

Tahareinu – https://www.tahareinu.com/

Tahareinu

You’ll notice at the bottom of their home page that this organization is endorsed by literally everyone. It’s actually hard to summarize what they do… Tahareinu works with women and couples on Taharas Mishpacha, fertility, and reproductive health. They don’t have educational materials online, but they have a hotline with access numbers and hours in countries across the world, and case managers who review more complicated cases. The Tahareinu website is beautiful and clearly laid out – check it out to see if they can provide you with assistance or solutions!
